Discover our rivers in a rabaska canoe
For groupsinterested in a trip in a voyageur canoe, or rabaska, the Town of Maniwaki, in cooperation with the Interpretation Centre, has made two large rabaskas available to visitors free of charge. To reserve a canoe, simply contact the Interpretation Centre at 819-449-7999. You can then take a trip on a section of the Gatineau River or glide along the Désert River, which flows through town. You can relax on the many deserted beaches and enjoy a picnic. You can travel for many kilometres on the river and discover one of our country’s oldest means of transportation. Note that, for most efficient handling, a rabaska needs a crew of at least eight paddlers and its maximum capacity is 12. Reservations 7 days in advance | |||||||||||
